Financial Planning
Financial planning services are offered by certain financial representatives at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Those representatives can provide you financial direction through the development of an objective, in-depth financial plan and help you integrate your financial goals with your personal values and aspirations. The result is a comprehensive plan created to fit your life.

If available in your area, you will be able to work in collaboration with your financial representative and a Thrivent financial planner on their team as needed to complete an analysis and develop an objective plan and recommendations to address your concerns. You can choose from among several levels of plans depending on your direction, the complexity of your needs and your desires.

Survey Plans — meet the needs of clients in the accumulation stage of life. These plans are an ideal way for most people to make sure they are on track to achieve their goals. Survey financial plans can be customized at a level of detail appropriate to your needs to address common issues such as:

  • Analyzing risk of premature death or disability.
  • Education funding for children or grandchildren
  • Pre- and post-retirement planning
  • Investment allocation
  • Income tax planning
  • Minimizing estate taxes and costs.
  • Sharing with charities through gifting strategies, and
  • Other needs as determined by your goals and objectives

Retirement Accumulation Plans — meet the needs of clients accumulating assets for retirement. These plans can be customized to a level of detail appropriate to your needs to help you determine how to accomplish your retirement goals and objectives.  Your plan may also include an analysis of your risk tolerance for your current investment portfolio, proposed recommendations on how to reallocate your investments and/or detailed year by year analyses based on your actual income and expenses.

Retirement Income Distribution Plans - identify and summarize income and expenses needed in retirement to demonstrate how to use assets to meet those needs and avoid the likelihood of outliving the assets.   The analysis calculates actual tax rates, the effect of tax bracket changes over time; the impact of Required Minimum distributions, strategies for withdrawals of pensions or qualified plans and IRAs, spending or liquidating assets in retirement and laddering of assets.

Investment Plans – utilize an optimization theory to produce a personalized portfolio analysis based on your risk tolerance, investment experience, tax consequences, financial goals and other relevant matters. Investment plans include a multi-step process to a disciplined and systematic approach to investing.

Business Valuation and Continuation Plans – help business owners estimate the value of the business for estate planning and/or the retirement or death of the business owner, using methods similar to those used by the IRS to value businesses for tax purposes.  The plans include an analysis of funding buy-sell agreements, methods for funding the replacement value of key employees, options analysis and value estimates in order to address issues of succession or business continuation.

Advanced Estate Plans — help high net worth individuals implement strategies to address complex estate goals and needs, determine strategies for reducing estate taxes, minimize probate and administrative costs, provide for loved ones and share wealth with charities.

Stock Option Plans – help determine the appropriate time to exercise options by quantifying risk and rewards, and illustrating the after-tax effects of exercise and sell strategies, considering tax and cash flow efficiency.

Special Needs Plans – Customized plans to address unique planning needs in your family with in-depth analysis and focused strategies to provide recommendations for the disabled while preserving other available benefits to optimize your financial situation
